From Hymn Show to Duo

It all started with a tape. WHAZ Radio host Fred Hoenzsch found it in his station mailbox on a late October day in 1991. A long time listener of Fred's "Hymns to Live By" show had sent him a cassette of her own piano arrangements of classic hymns and choruses. One week later Fred contacted Diane and shared his enthusiasm about the piano works, and mentioned that he would like to use some of these works on some of his future shows.

But now comes, as Paul Harvey would say, "the rest of the story". Fred would subsequently meet this hymn show fan at a Bible study, and as they got to know each other over the next few months, the Lord made it clear to them that they were brought together for a purpose. On September 26, 1992 Fred and Diane were married. One of the fruits of their marriage was the birth of their own business to serve the Christian community-Grace Note Music. They have continued to minister together throughout the capital region for over 13 years for assorted professional and voluntary functions — Hymn Sings, concerts, weddings, Special Events, and Church Service music. By May, 2000 Diane produced her first Piano CD, Be Thou My Vision, featuring a special combination of Diane's vintage piano style with a mixed classic/jazz/gospel flair. After the release of the album came the birth of this website, www.Gracenotemusic.com which features a lot of other information including the availability of online purchasing of her CD.
